I am an activist and community organizer, mobilizing people to change our current exploitative, extractivist and unequal system. My background is in computer science and anthropology and I have decades of experience in various fields of work, including software development, project management, events organization, science communication and global citizen education.
- What lead you to first discover the topic of degrowth?
Probably a mix of climate activism and my general interest in how societies and economies work. Putting those two concerns together makes it rather difficult to not stumble upon a critique of never-ending growth. - What do you like most about the degrowth movement?
I like that there is still a lot of struggle and discussions within it, because that leads to a type of growth that we do need: as people, groups and societies. - How did you discover the IDN?
Through a fellow degrowth activist in Berlin. - What do you enjoy most about being part of the IDN?
There's a lot of freedom to do, create, debate and bring ideas forward. It's a whirlwind of possibilities. - What would you say to someone who is considering volunteering with the IDN?
Just go for it. If you don't know how you could contribute, just ask!
