IDN Events Fund 2026 - Announcement of Results

This year we had €15,000 to distribute amongst degrowth-aligned events across the world.

We've gone through all the applicants and have listed the groups that we are excited to be funding!

The Fund set out to distribute € 15,000 among small Degrowth-focused events around the world, with a maximum of € 1,000 per event. We received 34 applications, four of which were immediately rejected because their overall budget was above the limit or because they received money from the Support Group this year. That left us with 31 applications, which our team of nine volunteers evaluated using the previously published criteria. Each event was reviewed by three evaluators, the scores averaged, and the events ranked by this score.

Now that the selection is over, and after communicating the results to the participants and preparing our documents for publication, we are finally able to publicly announce the results. The list of events chosen for funding is:

  • The Balochistan Degrowth Jirga: Reclaiming Indigenous Commons & Ecological Care, Youth Association for Development (YAD) Pakistan
  • The Soul of Nairobi: Reimagining the City Together, NtuLea Africa
  • World Social Forum - Financialisation of Life: Resisting False Solutions, Debt for Climate (D4C)

We would like to thank all participants for the effort that they put into their applications, the members from the Events Fund Team for their commitment and work, and last but not least, the Degrowth Conference Support Group for providing the money to finance the events.

As with the last event, we are open to comments, suggestions and critiques that help us make the next edition of the Fund better than previous ones, so feel free to reach out to us through info@degrowth.network.
