Global Degrowth Day 2026

This year, the Global Degrowth Day takes place on Saturday 6th June.

What can you do to get involved and help raise awareness of Degrowth within your local community?

How to Participate in the Global Degrowth Day

Here are some examples of what you could do:

Organise a demonstration for a local social or environmental struggle, voicing your demands to communities, municipalities, and governments.
Host a workshop on degrowth and its intersection with a topic of local relevance or interest.
Throw a party to celebrate the achievements of the degrowth community and to raise awareness of our struggle.
Host a discussion on the socio-ecological impacts of endless economic growth and how they appear in your local area (for example, the privatisation of natural or the building of a mega infrastructure project)
Facilitate a gathering to discuss a pressing issue in your local context from a critical perspective and co-design actions for local advocacy.
Or simply gather for a picnic and conviviality!
